There are a couple of factors that are driving up gas prices.

We've seen production cuts from oil producing states like Russia, Saudi Arabia.

Extreme heat has shut down refineries in Louisiana and Texas, so that has impacted supply.

And look, we're heading towards hurricane season.

And hurricanes have a tendency to drive up gas prices.

You look back at Hurricane Katrina.

Some of the biggest spike in gas prices happened after Katrina.

We've got rich men, north of Richmond, also.

They need to get their fair share.

So gas prices.

Gas is actually up like a dime in the last five days, national average.

Depending on where you are, in your mileage may vary.

But yeah, so that's always a giant story when that happens.

There's nothing that affects the psyche of people like gas prices.

Sure, it's a regular purchase.

You have expectations.

It's a gut punch.

It's a significant amount of money.

And it's utterly unavoidable.
