There's a story out of Ontario this morning. A Canadian mom is getting heat for her daughter's

unusual name. Uh-oh. The mom is 33-year-old Teniel Bain. Okay. She works as a beauty technician

and apparently a lot of her friends and her coworkers were having kids before her.

Well, not only that, you're a beauty technician. So you're seeing so many different people.

Like every name probably has like, I didn't like that person. Yeah. Attached to it.

She realized all her friends were choosing monarchers like River and Forest as a nod to nature.

Right. There's a lot of nature names right now. So when Teniel got pregnant, she decided

to name her daughter Tree and spelled it C-H-R-E-E. So Tree. Tree? Tree. Yeah. And she-

Wait, how did she spell it? C-H-R-E-E. Tree. Yeah. Tree. Not tree. She combined it with

her grandmother's middle name Mary Jane. And she decided to share this information with

her family and friends at the gender reveal party saying, my daughter's name will be Tree

Mary Jane. Oh. And instantly she got criticized and gotten to heated discussions with people

at her party saying, hey, you can't name your child after drug culture sweetheart.

But she's like, it's my grandma. My grandma came first. But like that shouldn't count.

For Teniel, that never crossed her mind. Oh, it didn't. She was not thinking at all drug

references. Which means she's not a pot smoker. Well, but when you know your grandmother's

name is Mary Jane, you know, like, I don't know. But she didn't even think about it.

A lot of people were begging her to change it, but in the end she decided to stick with her.

Oh my gosh. My mother-in-law was dead set on me naming our kid Harry. And I'm like, I

am not having a Harry Fox. Harry Fox is just not going to happen. So now that the story

is made its way online, she's getting a lot of support from strangers and some other

people who say, who cares if it's drug culture? It's just hard to pronounce. Tree. Yeah.
