It's a new year, and we have just come through another holiday season. This is the time of year

when many of us are making goals, intentions, and resolutions for the year ahead. I absolutely love

assessing what happened the previous year and planning for the next, but I've noticed that when I make

goals that feel too big, I can get overwhelmed

and end up not making any progress toward them. That said, sometimes I want to do the big things,

the things that feel outside my comfort zone, the things that might challenge me to a higher

level. So I've been using a little trick to help my

brain make the leap and get out of overwhelm. I've been imagining the version of me who already

has that thing I'm wanting. How does she feel? How does she move through the world? What are the

things she's thinking about as she goes to bed at night?

The more comfortable I get with this new version of me,

the less overwhelming the steps seem to get to her.

We can shift our mindset in this way any time we want,
