Tonight I'll be reading Sherlock Holmes, a study in Scarlet by Arthur Conan Doyle.

Part 1, Chapter 5 and 6.

In the previous chapter, Mr Holmes and Dr Watson attended a crime scene by invitation of Inspector Lestrad and Gregson, pleading for the detective's help.

Upon arrival, it appeared to be the scene of a murder,

though no obvious wounds were inflicted upon the victim.

After careful scrutiny and deduction, Sherlock had concluded many facts about the case, namely that the culprit was a tall man and

outwardly friends with the victim.

A short interview with the constable who found the body had confirmed that the murderer was

still outside the scene when he arrived, though he was thought to be just a drunkard.

The story ended with Holmes and Watson taking a break for lunch.
