This week's episode heads to Grants Pass, Oregon in 1993,

where local resident Shelly Shannon

was finalizing an elaborate plan that if successful

would end in murder.

Shelly Shannon was born Rochelle Polly in 1956 in Wisconsin.

An account of her life written on the Army of God's website says that she was born to teenage parents who married when they realized that they were expecting.

As a child she moved around often and her family did not have much money.

In the early 1970s a teenage Shelley found out that she was pregnant herself and gave birth

to her daughter in 1974.

Soon after she met and married her husband David Shannon,

and they had another child, their son, the next year.

The Shannon family of four moved around the west coast in

northern California and Oregon before settling in Grants Pass in 1988.

David worked and Shelly primarily stayed home with the kids.
