So Sheila Jackson Lee ran for mayor as you know and she lost

She immediately pivoted

She lost on Saturday was it December 7th or so I think it was and she had to file for re-election to Congress

by Monday at 5 p.m. Now she only won half the votes that were cast out of her congressional district in the

mayor's Race. That's odd. That's where you've been for 30 years. That should have been your

stronghold. She outperformed the rest of the city voters, but you got to realize

Kingwood showed up big. The west Side didn't show up as big as you would have

expected particularly because there was a runoff in District G. But she's not

doing well in those districts.

She is very vulnerable.

And she's vulnerable with the aspects of her coalition.

I spent time studying the 18th Congressional District and it's not,

people think it's all black. It's not.

It juts north into the Heights and you get some white

liberals, young white liberals, lawyers at downtown firms, you know, squishy heights people, exactly what

you would expect. And they kind of like the idea

that Sheila Jackson Lee is their congressman they feel oh I can't be racist because

Sheila Jackson Lee is my congressman until they need something.

Though there's crime or there's something going wrong and they're very upset and

she's got this little shanty like a little temporary building set up on about 19th or so.
