You know, I got a text from a good buddy of mine and he sent me a picture of a fire station, you know, and like, it's kind of like, why are you sending that, you know? But when he sends it, you know, he just lists the obvious, right? Like, doors are open. Garage doors are open. Like, things are ready to go. And, like, they're just waiting on that phone call to like respond

surgically and like just what a great representation of like the job I had and and being ready

for that moment and I think you know I smile because it's like a moment you prep for and you

are extremely excited for but also got to realize that it's extreme focus and

that's what I've continued to harp on but you wait for the perfect time you know you're going to

wait a whole lifetime so for me I'm just I've always been ready for every moment.

How surprised were you when the word came down yesterday that the Browns were making the change from Joe Flacko to Dylan Gabriel?

Not surprised at all. The writing was definitely on the wall. In fact, I had written a column saying that it should happen. And I also, the way that I posed my Monday story was that Kevin, it really appeared that he was moving over to Dylan Gabriel. All of the numbers were there. All of the signs were there. All of the quotes were there. And I really don't think anyone should have been surprised, including Joe Flacco, but he still was.

The only thing that surprised me was the overall circumstances. I thought it would be Flacco

until it was obvious that the Browns were cooked, that as a practical matter, they're not going to

make it to the playoffs. I think that there's still time.

I think, and I love Joe Flacco, but I think that he was holding back the offense. And there's

an opportunity here to goose the offense, couple it with a defense that is pretty damn potent

and still be competitive this year.

Well, the reason why that is true is because all you have to do is look at the

AFC North to see what's going on in the AFC North right now with the Ravens at 1 and 3,

with the Bengals at 2 and 2 and Joe Burrow out for three months.

All you have to do is look at that and see that if the Browns can just hang in there

with what I believe is a championship caliber defense, if they can hang in there

offensively a little bit, then anything can still happen in the middle or later parts of the
