Domestic violence calls are a daily issue for police officers. They're often also the most

dangerous. People are out of control. Someone trying to leave while the other is preventing them

from doing so, stalking behaviors, threats, hitting, smacking, pushing, punching, kicking.

And if there's a gun or other weapon involved, the danger increases exponentially, both for the

people involved and for the responding police officers. Homicides committed by intimate partners

is on the rise. In 2017, the FBI reported that 2,237 people died from intimate partner violence,

and 1,527 of those victims were women. In the United States, around 20 people per minute
