Summary
Jenna previews a consequential week of news heading into Easter weekend from the space race to social media company lawsuits and the headlines in between (including sharks ... on painkillers).
On The Middle East: Pres. Trump expresses optimism about a deal with Iran, references a 15-point plan, claims Iran is shipping large amounts of oil, and loosely characterizes leadership changes as “regime change,” while escalation indicators include Houthi attacks on Israel, increased U.S. troop levels (about 50,000 vs. a typical 40,000), Israel-Hezbollah exchanges, and NATO intercepting Iranian missiles aimed at Turkey.
On The Economy: Rising oil prices impact the economy and move the markets into "correction" territory (a decline of 10% off their highs).
In The Courtroom: Major jury verdicts against Meta, YouTube, on child safety and “addictive” designs. These lawsuits challenge Section 230 protections.
In Space: A possible Artemis II launch is schedule for Wednesday. We detail a 10-day crewed mission around the Moon, and discusses space as strategic “high ground.”

| 0:40.0 | of day and age where it feels like there's so many interests infiltrating the news. |
| 0:43.9 | So one of the ways that we do this is we have this small group of insiders that really matter |
| 0:48.2 | to us and join our broadcast live. And we just had a 15-minute conversation before the show. |
| 0:53.2 | It's our before-show show-show. It's our before show show. It's always |
| 0:55.1 | sort of fascinating. I shouldn't say sort of. It is. We talked about all sorts of things. |
| 1:00.5 | From margaritas to salt rooms to allergies to actual news. So it's it a lot. So love our insiders. |
| 1:07.9 | Thank you for those that are joining us live. And I asked that question. I know it's a question that could really take place at the beginning of any week. You know, is this the week that changes everything? But in this particular week, there's some news items that we're considering that it feels like there's a before and an after. You know, there's a before Artemis 2 and there's an after Artemis 2. There's a before a legal precedent for social media companies that was set last week, and then there's the after, and there's the question about the after effects of it. There's, you know, before what's happening with the war in Iran and potentially what's going to happen after. We don't know if the war could conclude this week. I'm not suggesting that, but it does seem like there's a lot of different options on the table. So we're going to tackle some of these bigger themes in the news this week and get you prepped and ready before what will be a holiday weekend going into Easter weekend the first weekend of April. It's hard to believe that we're already here. On your screen, for those of you joining us on YouTube, but those of us joining us on podcasts, I know I can just say Shark and you have an image of it. You don't need me to show it to you, but I just decided that we needed, before jumping into somewhat more of the serious news, because we have quite a bit of that. I wanted to just share with you something that our team read right at the end of last week. |
| 2:19.5 | And let me just read the headlines from CBS News. Sharks in the Bahamas test positive for caffeine, |
| 2:27.3 | painkillers, and even cocaine. Now, this is a real study, just so you know. This isn't just, |
| 2:32.7 | this is real news. It actually happened. |
| 2:34.7 | It's actually a research paper where marine biologists and scientists analyzed the blood samples |
| 2:41.4 | of 85 sharks of different species off the coast of the Bahamas. They say they're the first ones |
| 2:48.1 | to really find acetaminophen, so pain killers in these sharks. But |
| 2:51.6 | unfortunately, cocaine has been found in sharks before. Didn't know that. By the way, there's a whole |
| 2:55.5 | body of research, but apparently that's a thing. Might connect the dots for a few of us about some of |
| 3:01.3 | the behavior that we see from some of these said sharks. You know, I'm just going to throw it out there. |
| 3:06.1 | These researchers say this is really important, though, |
| 3:08.4 | because not only could it potentially impact the animal's health and behavior, but it tells us |
