Summary

We’re looking for your stories for the Love Letters podcast. We love all tales of breakups, dating, love, and connection. But for a special upcoming series of the show, we’re looking for stories about COMMUNITY. We want to hear about friends, special acquaintances, or the seemingly inconsequential human ties that make your life better. We want to hear about important, platonic bonds you currently have, important bonds you’ve had (past tense), or meaningful bonds you’d like to form. Because significant others don’t have to be romantic … and sometimes having a strong non-romantic community makes it easier to find and maintain romantic love (if you want it). Tell us your story by filling out our questionnaire at Boston.com/LoveLettersStory. As always, thanks for listening and being a part of the Love Letters community. We can also be reached with questions for the Love Letters advice column at loveletters@boston.com. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Hey, everybody, it's Meredith. Just a quick announcement. We have a bunch of wonderful episodes

coming very soon. But we're also prepping a very specific season to air this spring that is very

0:15.7

personal to me. This unique season will be about how we build a full life of human connections, not just romantic ones.

Often, a romantic story is actually about a person's family and friends.

I think about stars of former episodes like Kumar, whose first life partner was his mother,

0:38.5

where that one episode where a 30-something New Yorker tells me, she felt like sex in the city lied to her.

0:44.1

She wasn't going to brunch every Sunday with friends.

0:46.9

She was stuck in a group chat where she just heard about marriage and babies.

0:50.8

What she lacked was the right kind of community connection.

Anyone who listened to the episode where I talked to my financial guy, Bob, knows that

0:58.0

Bob not only understands my money, but he also understands my soul.

1:02.5

He also helped my sister get through her biggest life changes, from moving out of New York

to getting a divorce.

I've realized through this podcast that I can only be healthy in romance

1:11.6

if I have community. I've also noticed that the people who tell the happiest stories about

1:16.7

romantic love usually wind up crediting other strong bonds that have made them who they are.

1:22.1

So I want to hear your stories about other bonds you've built in your life, the special

1:26.7

relationships, the people who feel

1:28.7

essential to your happiness. I want to hear about relationships you've built and maybe relationships

1:33.1

you've lost and wish you could rebuild. I want to hear about the relationships you wish you had right
