Thanks so much for joining me today.

I'm going to talk today about one aspect of child rearing, and we can call it maybe just how to help your child be the best version of himself.

That's a big topic.

All of our children are sons and daughters of Adam and sinners, just like all of us parents.

So we cannot expect our children to just grow up without us giving them a lot of training and teaching. And this is going

to take a lot of diligence on our part and many prayers for them. And by diligence, I mean a lot of repetition.

I know you've heard the sapling analogy probably many times, but it's a good one.

And if we want a tree to grow up straight and not bent, we have to set it round with supports

to keep it straight in the winds.

Our children need a mother who is paying attention and not lazy, who will be a strong support to each child God gives her.

Proverbs 226, train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

Train up a child, okay, in the way he should go.

That has to happen when they're still

saplings. No two children, obviously, are going to be just alike, even if they're siblings.

But parents have a God-assigned duty to train them and teach them all while they're children.

And when they grow up, they're going to hang on to this to everything

you've taught them, believe it or not. And of course, this is going to take a lot of wisdom on

parents' behalf because even our own children who are related to one another are going to be

very different and are going to need different kinds of instruction, different kinds of teaching,

as well as plenty
