Hey folks, this is Brad Listy. I am re-airing my conversation with Shauna Mayan today. I'm very sad to report that we have lost her.

She had been struggling with COVID-19, like the long-haul version of COVID-19 over the past year, had a particularly nasty case of it, and had been having a very difficult

time. And from what I gather, she took her own life last week. So it's heartbreaking news.

And I thought, I would just share my recollection of her.

I only had that one conversation with her, which is one of the strange parts of doing

this show.

I have these great conversations with people.

And oftentimes, that's it, you know.

But what I remember about her was how funny she was, how vulnerable she seemed.

And she had what I would characterize as Survivor's energy.

She had been through quite a lot.

This is a person who had a spectacularly difficult childhood

and lived to tell about it.

And not only that, but emerged from it somehow with her sense of humor intact,

with her good heart intact.

She was really funny.

And frankly, I'm sorry I didn't get to know her better.

So if you're out there and you did know Shana and you're grieving her loss, I send you my deepest

condolences. I'm so sorry. It's terrible to lose anyone. It's, you know, it's always terrible

to lose someone. I think it's, it's extra hard in some ways to lose somebody to suicide.

So my heart goes out to you. If you did not know Shauna Mayan, you should read her book.
