Arts and popular culture are made for today, not for tomorrow.

Though creators surely hope to make contributions

that will have staying power, movies, music, television, books, and artwork

are made in and of the moment.

Studios, networks, and publishers put out work in the hopes

that a contemporary audience will embrace

and pay for what they want now.

There is a little thought for what will come of it tomorrow

or 20 years from now.

However, the most an artist can hope for

is to create something that will stand the test of time.

In our case, in making movies or television,

that not only remain relevant and entertaining years past their sell-by date,
