Twitter had one of those moments that made constant doom scrolling nearly worth

it where Dean something or other from, you know, the GOP something or other from

whatever'sville accidentally posted something that was clearly supposed to be

from his burner account where he was like you know as an openly gay black male

You know I have to say that Donald Trump has done so much for me and Obama never did and blah blah blah he is not black so yeah and so

immediately like within an hour it oh it just completely escalated out of

control where somebody who was a black man recorded a video who was like, yeah, I know that was me talking and I don't know how, whatever.

It was a whole weird thing, but then 15 minutes after that, we come to discover it's

Patty LaBelle's nephew. So Justin Kirkland, my friend and colleague at Esquire, and I are trying to get to the bottom of it. We're going back and forth on Twitter. Justin's like, Dave, it's Patty LaBelle's son. And then Padma Lakshmi comes in and

is like, nephew, you know, asterisked nephew. Then Shamir sees our tweets and says a phrase

that I'm gonna get to work appropriating,

let this not be true.

And I was like, no, it's not her son, it's a nephew.

Shamir said, that still does not sit right with my spirit, but I'm just gonna, we're gonna go with it.
