Summary

Shame is one of those emotions that affects all of us but it’s hard to identify. If we don't recognize shame and move past it, it will lead to other negative emotions and take us out. In this message, we discover the path off of the shame cycle.

0:49.3	we've already connected so well I figured I'd go ahead and open up with one of my most embarrassing
0:53.4	and shameful moments in my life and so just to set up a little bit of context it was
0:57.4	about 11 years ago my wife and I were married and we didn't have any kids we were
1:02.1	living in a cool part of Dallas.
1:03.7	This is back when we were cool.
1:05.2	And so we were living down in the M streets area.
1:07.6	And so those of you that aren't in Dallas,
1:09.0	you don't know that, but everybody in this room knows,
1:10.9	that's where all the cool people are.
1:11.8	And so we were down there living in the M streets.
1:13.9	We didn't have any kids.
1:14.8	And so we did what a lot of young married couples will do
1:16.9	is we got a pet, but we made a bad mistake
1:19.6	and we didn't get the dog, we got a cat all right and I I know I just offended most of you but just
