0:44.8	It's a planned community, originally designed by the Van Swarajan brothers, two eccentric

0:54.9	They built grand mansions and gardens, and in the middle of the town is around about,

1:04.8	Today, Shaker Heights is an odd mix of upper-class blue bloods and severely poor, multi-generational
1:12.3	families of immigrants who live on the edge of town where the big city encroaches.
1:21.6	Nowhere else in Greater Cleveland is the racial and economic disparity of the region so

1:30.2	Shaker Heights is the best and worst of everything we have to offer.

1:47.6	On September 14, 1990, the murder of a young woman tore this town apart.
