House.

We have just finished a ghost tour, and for the last several hours have heard many of Savannah's darkest stories.

The story of the Mercer House was conspicuous by its absence,

and so we have come here to see the place for ourselves.

The house was made famous as the scene of what is now Savannah's most infamous murder in John Barrett's 1994 New York Times

bestseller midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil.

To this day no book has yet to match its 216 week run.

What made the book so compelling was

Behrant's first-hand interactions with virtually everyone involved in the criminal

case, as well as the cast of characters that enabled him to portray Savannah as a real life Southern Gothic setting.

The book reads like a novel and does so because Barrett fictionalized some of his accounts.
