0:19.1	Well, I was the director of a ministry on the campus of Texas A&M for 10 years,
0:27.3	and as the director of that ministry, I was with some degree of regularity accused of not being
0:33.1	truly saved. And it would work out this way, inevitably a teacher would arrive in town with a
0:41.3	new derivation of Christianity that would kind of skim off a certain percentage of college kids,
0:48.2	and inevitably they would teach them some unique expression of Christianity, and then those
0:52.8	acolytes of that person would inevitably trickle back towards breakaway and tell me, hey,
0:57.2	you're not really saved because you weren't baptized the right way, or because you didn't say
1:04.6	the right words when you came to faith, because you didn't repent of all known sin in your mind
1:11.6	at the moment of conversion, you're not truly saved. Because you didn't pass out tracks,
1:17.8	gospel tracks at Walmart in the parking lot at 2am, you're not truly saved. Or they would say,
1:23.6	you're not truly saved because you've never raised someone from the dead. You have not ushered
1:30.2	in an experience where gold dust falls from the ceiling, or you've not had golden teeth
1:35.5	arrive in your mouth. You've not had an ecstatic emotional experience where you've passed out and
1:41.9	woken up with a revelation, you've not experienced some of these things. And inevitably that would
1:47.3	happen. They would say, so you're not a real Christian, or maybe you are a Christian, but you're
1:52.3	junior varsity, but I've now attained varsity. And inevitably the way they would discern that
1:58.2	kind of broke along these two camps, either you're failure in performance, or you're failure in
2:04.6	experience. You have failed to do some things, so you're not real. Or you've not experienced some
2:12.5	things, and therefore you're not real. What they inevitably never focused on was character.
