In all my years of prosecuting, I've only had a handful of triple homicides to investigate

and take to trial.

And I can tell you why they all go to trial, because who's going to sign up for either

the death penalty or three consecutive life sentences one after the next?

They might as well roll the dice and hope they get a weak jury.

But think about it, a triple homicide.

A single homicide crime scene is awful enough, devastating, jarring.

It sticks with you forever.

But a triple homicide, especially under these circumstances.
