For me, I had a patient

who was very post-menopause a couple of years ago tip off my interest in sex med and wondering

why women weren't being served like the men were. Viagra came out in approximately 1998,

and there's still no FDA-approved medication for libido for postmenopausal

women. We can get into that a little bit if you want to. So I deep dove, and now I know a lot.

And in doing that, menopause is a huge interest, too, because it's just another thing where it's like if

testicles fell off at age 50 there'd be a vaccine. If penis is shriveled up at age 50, there'd be

like transplants. So the sexual disparities really got to me and I think that's why I'm so

passionate about it because I'm like, how can this be 50% of the population and women don't know? And we always joke in urology.
