listening in today. Let's get started. Good morning and welcome. I'm so glad you've joined. I'm pretty excited

to share with you something that I think is really interesting. I got up this morning unsure what I was

going to record for this week, but I was prayerful about just something coming into my life that I needed

to learn, something that would open my eyes. And it wasn't very

long later when I got an email from a good friend, Tony Sellers. He's an elder here at the church.

He loves to send me links to articles that he reads, that he thinks might be helpful in the preaching

and in the teaching and in counseling. And he hit a huge home run today with an article by a man named

Joe Carter called seven secular sermons you might have heard this week. And it's ultimately

about an awareness that we are being inundated with messages, technology, entertainment,

all different kind of cultural cues that are not just hitting one person at a time

on some small scale, but are really being blasted across the entire tapestry of human life for our

children, for us, for everybody that we know, and we need to understand what's going on before it's

too late. It opened my eyes. It's led me to a few very important

conclusions. I'll go ahead and front in that before we get into the particulars. One, I need to be

aware of what's going on. Every time I pick up my phone, every time something comes across the radio,

every time we log into Netflix, something is happening.

It's massive, it's influential, and ignorance and putting my head in the sand is not going
