Summary
Three siblings, a moonlit lake in South Milwaukee, and a stretch of bridges locals whisper about. It should’ve been just an adrenaline walk — midnight, cold air, empty park, waves hitting the shore. Instead, they watched an entire group of hooded, faceless figures do something impossible: run along the narrow cinder blocks out in the water — blocks only big enough for one person — and somehow all stand on the last one. Then, like they’d noticed the living, they turned and charged toward shore.
That’s when fun stopped being fun.
The siblings bolted for the stairs. The hooded things followed — fast, silent, closing the gap. But the second the brother’s foot hit the steps, the figures froze. No faces. No breathing. No sound. Just a line of black hoods in the moonlight, staring without eyes.
Were they shadow people? Something tied to the water? Echoes of the damned? Whatever they were, they didn’t want to be seen — and they didn’t leave the sand.
Because some places don’t want you there after dark. And some things run at you just to see if you’ll run back.
