Dr. Lois Evans was blessed to be able to instill a godly legacy in the lives of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

And we'll begin today by hearing her testimony, shared at a conference not too long ago.

I grew up in a Christian home, very, very godly family, and felt very secured in that, and did not accept Christ until I was 11.

At the age of 15, God called me the full-time ministry. I remember being at a Christian camp, and I remember I could not stand my seat.

I walked down those aisles that day and said, yes to Jesus Christ as it relates to his service in my life.

Now at 15, I know I asked God for one thing. I said, you need to bring a godly man into my life. I want to share a ministry with someone.

I started praying for a mate at the age of 15, not knowing that my mom had already done that. She brought into the world eight children and prayed for all of us to go out and send mates into her life.

So there's another lesson to pray for mates for your families. And that's something I've done with our four children. Pray to God, send them the right mates, godly mates.

Three years later, I met this young man who had just rededicated his life to the Lord. He just being called for full-time ministry as well.

Very spirited, very unfire, very committed, and I thought, hmm, could this be him? Well, two years after meeting, we started our life's journey together.

And it has been a journey. There's so many valleys and hills and creeks and things that we've gone through in the last 30 years of marriage, but there are two that stand out in my memory of how good God is.

The first one is our journey in seminary. Those were lean years, but we knew God called us a seminary.
