Happy New Year from Nashville. You are joining a conversation about who you are,

you with us. Wow, unbelievable, isn't it, folks? How quickly the years come and go as we get

older and looking forward to a fantastic year on the Ken Coleman show. One is, one that is defined

by you, the caller, the listener, getting clarity, developing a plan, pursuing the plan,

achieving along the way and receiving the benefits of your efforts, all for the purpose of giving

yourself away. That's why we're here. And here we are on this first day, and I can't help but

think of the significance of why it is that we do this whole thing like a New Year celebration.

Now, you know, I don't know when and how you are necessarily listening to today's show, but

the reality is, is we all on some level celebrated on New Year's Eve, and when the clock

struck 12, you were either celebrating, kissing, maybe in bribing, or like me, sleeping.

You had already celebrated. I kind of go to bed after the kids do, so we'll see, you know,

year to year is one of those deals. That's my answer. We'll see. But here's the deal. Why do we do this?

Now, it's interesting that this all began by the Babylonians, like in 2500 BC. That's when New Year's

celebration starts. It goes way, way, way back. What that means is it's one of the oldest

celebrations in humankind. So it's no small thing. So I started thinking about it.

I started thinking about it this morning. What's really going on? Like, why do we make such a big

hullabaloo about the New Year? You know, and here's what I think it is. And then I want to walk

through the process that a lot of us go through and then go, wait a second, is this a New Year's
