We just actually passed five years in February.

Thanks for much you're doing this. And the thing I've always wanted to ask you is what was like the first time you walked out into the floor hearing the theme song with an audience?

Oh, it's so interesting to realize how little thought I gave to that now.

Whereas I was so tuned in to the first time it happened at SNL, whereas with my show and my

theme song, I think I was, I felt that burden of so many things that I was not as present.

I think we've been talking about this a little bit before, but I just remember watching you

trying to get a hold of what the monologue was.

Yeah.

And because historically for late night, the monolog's never been on monologue.

Yeah.

It's just been, in fact, when Letterman did it, he was called opening remarks because

contractually he couldn't do more than a minute and a half because of Carson.

And just watching you break this thing into make it yours and to have you just be sitting at the desk, immediately like the show is breathing as soon as it starts rather than you having to sort of find your way to the desk.

Yeah. We again, looking back, it's embarrassing. It took us 18 months to figure out that that was the right way to start the show. But the first two jokes into the
