Hello friends it's Mr. Jim and welcome back to Kid Short Stories.

Today's story comes to us from Seth. Hey Seth he sent me an awesome idea for a story and

about a giant excavator? Me too, let's go! Seth lived in a neighborhood where houses were being built. Have you ever seen a construction site? Maybe walked past one or drove past one? Yeah,

construction sites are really cool because they're full of all kinds of really

powerful machines and really hard workers. Yeah, there's diggers that dig holes and then there's the cement trucks that pour all the cement

and there's the people that put it all together and build a building.

It is very cool that Seth lives in a place where he can stand at his front porch

and watch those tractors and machines hard at work.

It was one of his favorite things to do.

Probably his most favorite thing to do

was sit on his front porch, have a snack, and a glass of water, and watch these

machines. Every single day, it was amazing how powerful they were. And do you know his favorite machine? It's called an

excavator. Excavators are really cool machines. Do you know what they do?

Yeah, they excavate.

Wait, that's a big word too. What does that mean?

It says excavators are heavy construction equipment consisting of a boom

tipper bucket and a cab on a rotating platform known as a house. Oh it's yeah it's it's those big yellow ones with a big arm and a bucket at the end of it.

Can you picture that?

Yeah, that's an excavator and that was Seth's favorite machine.

He had watched excavators do projects for a very long time.
