0:00.0	Hey there. I'm so glad you stopped by for this podcast. We hope so much we can serve you today.
0:12.3	Turn with me to Romans chapter 8. As we get started in Romans chapter 8, I want to go ahead
0:18.3	and read one through 14. I don't anticipate that in the remaining part of the chapter,
0:25.3	we may take this large a segment. But this portion, these 14 verses, I speak to the same
0:35.0	general theme and that's why I want to take them together or nearly I would have cut them up.
0:39.5	But I think unless we just wanted to be tedious for weeks and it's been something that's going to
0:43.8	come to a climactic point that we've been studying now through portions of Romans 5, certainly
0:50.1	through 6, certainly through 7 and now we're going to see it really hit its height in Romans chapter
0:56.4	8. So I want to read one through 14 and then we're going to catch up with our theme for this
1:00.8	particular lesson. Verse 1, there 4, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.
1:10.2	I want to back up because we have to always see what are there 4 is there 4.
1:15.4	So that seems to be an unfortunate place to begin a new chapter, although we will see a new
1:19.9	line of thinking here, but let's back up a couple of verses. Get to verse 23, I think is a really
1:27.5	great place to start, but I see another lot work in the members of my body. I'm in chapter 7,
1:32.0	waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within my
1:36.3	members. What a wretched man am I? Who will rescue me from this body of death?
1:42.4	Thanks be to God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then I myself in my mind am a slave to God's law,
1:48.7	but in the sinful nature, a slave to the law of sin. Therefore there is now no condemnation for
1:55.6	those who are in Christ Jesus because through Christ Jesus the law of the spirit of life
2:02.4	set me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law was powerless to do in that it was
2:07.9	weakened by the sinful nature God did by sending his own son in the likeness of sinful man and
2:13.3	just means taking on a physical body not that Christ had sin but that he took on human flesh.
