People are never unhappy with you. They're unhappy with their expectations of you, which

means it's their problem, not yours. We set expectations for other people, and then

when they don't hit your expectations, we get all upset and bothered by it. So I try

really hard to not put those expectations on my friends and my people, right? Because

that's just me setting myself up for disappointment. I can't control other people. I can't control

what they do. I can't control what they say. I can't control any of that. All I can do

is control me. I can control whether I hang around with them again, whether I stay in

business with them again. I can control how I use my time. I can control how I think

and what I know. But none of those things are other people. I can't control other people.

And because of that, I don't allow other people to disrupt my day or my happiness or my

life or my business. And I'm willing to live an imperfect life in order to have a big

life. I can't live your life and live mine. I tell people in business too. We could either

get really good at chasing everybody else and what they're doing, and we can try to be

really good at being them, or we could sit back and become really good at being us.

I think we're all right. So let's just focus on our model and our stuff and be good at

us, right? And I set the expectations up front that this is how it's going to work with

me. You don't have to be a part of the world, but for me, this is how it's going to work.

Because I cannot live everybody else's life and still try to live mine.
