I have been looking for a long time for a Republican to have this conversation with,

I realize you're no longer Republican, but you were there.

And I want to hear about Sam and what you're doing, because we have first passed the post-winner

take all elections.

I mean, this was the God awful realization that James Madison came to that led to Federalist

number 10, and John Stuart Mill didn't really introduce proportional representation until

I think it was 1849, was it when on Liberty was published?

All your later democracies have proportional representation, but there's seven countries

in the world that don't.

Number one of them, a couple of them, New Zealand and Australia have solved that problem

with Instagram voting, but we're basically stuck with a two party system.

So your party is going to have to replace the Republican party if it's going to be a major

play, ultimately, if it's going to be a major player in American politics.
