But first up, I'm sorry, I have to talk about LeBron.

I didn't plan to talk about LeBron until he began to tease what was called the second decision.

And silly me, that was Monday night.

I started thinking, well, the Lakers have shut him out.

They have made it very clear to him that they are moving forward without him after this year,

that Luca is now the face of the franchise, the future of the franchise.

And I thought, silly me, maybe LeBron finally caved in. Maybe he was forced by the Lakers to go ahead and declare

publicly that this will be his final year, last hurrah. That way he could have a LeBron

victory tour, a swan song tour over America.

He could get feated, honored, enshrined at every stop along the way, gifts, accolades, ceremonies,

every arena.

I thought maybe that's what's happened.

The Lakers finally convinced him this is not happening after this year.

No matter what happens this year, you are not in our plans.

If we win the chip this year, you are done as a Los Angeles Laker, which leads him, of course, two choices.

He could retire now, announce it, live it out, be a great ride, great way to go, quote-unquote, home to Hollywood.

Or he could say, screw you Lakers, watch this.
