What kind of man was Marvin Gale Gray?

Remember that scene in Silence of the Lambs, where Hannibal Lecter is escorted to a rendezvous

with a politician escorted by a motorcade of police ready to shoot if he were to somehow

break his restraints and spring forth from that

mask and bite someone, even though the restraints rendered it physically impossible. Real police

would take those kinds of precautions when it comes to truly dangerous individuals.

Marvin Gray was the same kind of offender.

Another apt movie reference is Blade Runner.

If you have seen that film, you would remember that the humanoid replicant, Roy Batty,

puts his hands around his creator, Eldon Terrell, and crushes his skull,

simply by applying force.

Marvin Gray did that exact same thing to a corrections officer, while held in a jail cell

awaiting a hearing that was to examine his eligibility for a reduction in his

sentence. Yeah, so much for that. The officer survived, but not without Gray bathing in his blood.

Gray was a six-foot-three tower of muscle, like the guy on an NFL team who signs up for the most

lucrative commercial endorsements. Prison guards didn't lead him anywhere. He volunteered every step.
