President Trump talked with Russian President Vladimir Putin and said the two had a quote, very good call.

Trump reportedly congratulated Putin on winning the election over the weekend and

says they plan to meet in person soon. The White House said the two talked about shared interests

like North Korea, but critics aren't too happy with it.

Even some Republican lawmakers didn't think it was a good idea to congratulate Putin considering

reported corruption in Russia's election.

The New York Times reports the President did not mention any of the other topics

that the rest of the world is pretty mad about like Russia's involvement in the

poisoning of a former British spy and Russia interfering with the US election in 2016.

But White House officials say Trump feels keeping a good leader-to-leader relationship

is the only way to improve things.
