| 0:33.0 | And as always, we've got a couple of stocks on our radar. But we begin with the big macro. |
| 0:38.0 | Retail sales in the month of September rose 0.7%, which may not sound like a lot. |
| 0:43.0 | But that was nearly a full percentage point higher than what economists were expecting. |
| 0:49.0 | Maria, still a lot of ex-factors out there in the economy. |
| 0:53.0 | But this was a really nice surprise. Yeah, this was a great surprise. |
| 0:56.0 | And it's due to a couple of things. So we are actually in the highest inflation environment in the US in about 30 years. |
| 1:01.0 | So you see a lot of goods and short supply with supply chain constraints and full effect for goods people want to purchase such as electronics and cars. |

| 1:51.0 | Yeah, I mean, I think she keyed in certainly on the shopping early people are shopping early earlier than usual. |
| 1:58.0 | And I mean, we've seen Amazon already starting their Black Friday sales target doing something similar. I mean, this is just going to continue throughout the rest of the year. |
| 2:07.0 | And I think it's one thing I was thinking about too. It's also worth remembering. There are more ways to spend now. Right. I mean, you've got high deposit balances. |
| 2:14.0 | But I mean, look at the traction that by now pay later is is gaining over over this last year. I mean, it's giving consumers another way to pay, which I think that that is stoking some demand there. |
| 2:25.0 | So it's nice to see likely some pull forward here for for early holiday season shopping. But if supply chain issues can resolve themselves, maybe it's a bit more sustainable. |
