And there's now like this idea taking hold that this is what the Patriots are doing with their quarterback.

Which boggles my mind because there is no team I have ever seen in the history of organized sports that is better at planning and thinking ahead and being one step ahead of everybody else than the New England Patriots.

It is their calling card.

They are always, always thinking long term and what's in the best long term interest of the team and plotting those moves out and plotting their payroll out accordingly and plotting their roster out accordingly. This is what they do. But on the quarterback, the most important decision they're

going to have to make on their roster in the 50, 60 years of the franchise's existence,

they're going to say, we'll see what happens. Yeah, wing it. What are you freaking nuts?

What leads you to believe it this? They have an excellent idea of what they're going to do, an excellent idea. And there's only a few things that could upset what it's going to be. You know, I'll just give you the two extremes. If they think that we're going long term with Brady and Garoppolo's done at the end of the year,

there's only one thing that changes that, and that is Brady retires. Okay? Even if Brady's injured, I think that doesn't knock them off it, because you can pretty much return from any kind of injury nowadays. Even if he suffers an ACL at the end of the year, he'll be ready to go at the beginning of next year. There's no end, maybe a back.

You know, out of nowhere, he starts to have really bad back problems. Maybe that's something you consider. But he is not, he ain't going to look like Peyton Manning here at the end. He's not going to look like Dan Marino at the end. At worst, maybe he suffers a minor injury and starts to hobble a little bit, but he's still going to be good if not not great. At worst, he's going to be good. Well, go ahead. So listen, if they've made up their mind that it's Garoppolo next year, I'm sorry, if it's Brady next year and no Garoppolo, the only thing that takes them out of that is if Brady retires. Conversely, if they've said to themselves, it's Garoppolo next year and Brady's gone. We've already made up our mind. There's only one thing that changes that. And that is if Brady wins a Super Bowl looks just as good as he did last year and says he wants to keep playing. Then they're really kind of porked. Then I don't know what the hell they do. But anything in between, they've made up their mind. I don't know what it is, but they know what they're going to do. So when Robert Kraft says over the weekend to Ben Volan about... Well, go ahead.
