Hi, friends. I'm Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books and the

New Testament of the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ,

life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, and the miracles. Each

month we get to read all four books. So make sure you're subscribed. Join in. It is not too late

Here's how this is going to work this month. Instead of reading you three chapters a day,

we are reading through the Gospels chronologically from the NIV. We did this back in March or April.

I think everybody loved it. We did too. So we are doing it again, but now in the NIV. So we're going

to be reading the stories in the order they took place, which is mixing them together from all four

books most days. I'm going to share the references here with you at the beginning and you can find

them in the show notes as well as in your reading guide and in the guidebook. You can listen or read

along in your own Bible and I'll pray and that is it. So today is day five. I am reading Mark 1,

14 through 15, Matthew 4, 12 through 17, Luke 3, 23, John 4, 46 to 54, Luke 4, 16 to 30,

Mark 1, 16 to 20, Matthew 4, 18 to 22, Mark 1, 21 to 28, Luke 4, 31 to 37,

Mark 1, 29 to 34, Matthew 8, 14 to 17, Luke 4, 38 through 41, Mark 1, 35 through 39,

Luke 4, 42 through 44, Matthew 4, 23 through 25, Luke 5, 1 through 11, Mark 1, 40 to 45, Matthew 8,

1 through 4, and Luke 5, 12 through 16, and I'll be reading these in the NIV.

The ministry of Jesus begins from Mark. After John was put in prison, Jesus went into

Galilee proclaiming the good news of God. The time has come, he said, the kingdom of God has come

near repent and believe the good news from Matthew. When Jesus heard that John had been put in prison,

he withdrew to Galilee, leaving Nazareth. He went and lived in Capernaum, which was by the lake
