Christianity thing, or you're trying to get your head around it, or maybe you've just wondered this,

like, why did Jesus have to go through all that stuff on cavalry why can't god just say i forgive you

and be done with it you know why all that stuff the truth is if you think about it nobody just forgives

anybody it doesn't just happen oh i just forgive you just forgive him no there's a sacrifice involved

when you forgive somebody,

chances are, it hurts. Oh, man, it's hard. It's like letting go of something you really,

really want. Like, you're holding on to this rope and you, okay, I'll let go. There's a sacrifice

involved. If there's damage to a relationship, you got to, at the very least, it hurts to release your pride it may be that they've

broken something physically and if you forgive somebody you have to bear the cost of replacing

whenever it was they broke there's always a cost and it's always born by the forgiver and it's

always relative to the degree of harm. And it gives you a real picture

of what we've done. And that's not a guilt trip. It's just a reason to really be thankful.

If you ever really stop and think about what Jesus did, the crucifixion scene, it's hard to think about, but if you ever really stop and think about it,

you can't square that with thinking, I can't square that,

with me thinking, you know, Brant, you're a pretty good guy.

It's just impossible.

I mean, just think about it.

Like, if he actually was, if you believe that he was actually going through that on my behalf or on your behalf, like he took the punishment we deserve.

This is a fundamental idea of Christianity that God himself took the punishment for us.

If that's the case and a punishment looked like that, there's no way I can look at me and go, overall, I'm pretty good.
