Today, Ireland abruptly scraps its red list. Could the same happen in the UK?

Reports of chaos at the airport, not here but in Europe, with passengers

flying back to the UK. And Ashley Davis wonders, is it weird sharing a cabin on the Caledonian

on a Saturday evening in COVID travel land, because people are mostly having a night off, but not so in

Ireland. Quite remarkably, with no advance warning at all, the Irish chief medical officer

basically just said, well, frankly, there is no point keeping people in

hotel quarantine anymore because, frankly, it's not doing any good. This broke yesterday

evening. There were 50 people in hotel quarantine in Ireland, far fewer actually than the UK.

And the red list there is just six South American countries.

But they were just released immediately.
