Hi friends. I am Annie F. Downs. Let's read the Gospels. The Gospels are the first four books of the New Testament in the Bible, Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. These are the stories of Jesus Christ's life on earth, the friendships, the parables, the sacrifices, the meals, the miracles. Each month we get to read all four books. So go ahead, subscribe today. Join us as we read the Gospels together. Now, normally, y'all know we read

0:39.4

three chapters a day to get through the whole four books in 30 days. But this month is a little

0:45.5

different. We are mixing it up and reading the Gospels chronologically from the new international

0:50.4

version or the NIV. So we read stories in the order in which they took place,

0:55.4

usually getting something from all four books. So I'll share the references with you here at the

0:59.9

beginning and you can find them in the show notes as well. You can listen or read along in your

1:03.5

own Bible and then I'll pray and that's it. Luke 8, 16 through 18, Mark 4, 21 to 29, Matthew 13, 24 to 30. Mark 4, 30 to 34. Matthew 13, 31 to 52.

1:19.9

Mark 4, 35 to 41. Matthew 8, 23 to 27. Luke 8, 22 to 25, 25. Mark 1 through 20, Matthew 8, 28 to 34, and Luke 8, 26 to 39.

Illustrations of the lamp from Luke. No one lights a lamp and hides it in a clay jar or puts it under a bed.

1:47.9

Instead, they put it on a stand so that those who come in can see the light. For there is nothing

1:53.2

hidden that will not be disclosed and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the

1:58.7

open. Therefore, consider carefully how you listen.

2:02.1

Whoever has will be given more. Whoever does not have even what they think they have will be taken from them.

2:09.3

From Mark. He said to them, do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don't you put it on its stand?

2:17.4

For whatever is hidden is meant to be

2:19.4

disclosed and whatever is concealed is meant to be brought out into the open. If anyone has ears to

2:25.4

hear, let them hear. Consider carefully what you hear, he continued. With the measure you use,

2:31.6

it will be measured to you and even more.

2:36.1

Whoever has will be given more.
