All praise is due to Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

We praise him and we seek his help.

And we seek refuge in Allah from the evil of our souls and the consequences of our actions.

Indeed, whomever Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala guides, none can misguide.

And whomever Allah chooses to misguide, none can guide him back to the straight path.

I bear witness and I testify that there is no deity worthy of worship other than Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala.

And I bear witness and I testify that Muhammad ﷺ is his final prophet and his most perfect worshiper.

As to what follows, Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala has reminded us in the Quran to have takhwa of him

when he says, Ya Yuhal Lathina Aman uttakullahu hakka tukati wa latamutunna illa wa antumuslimun.

O you who believe, be conscious of Allah the way that it is befitting you are conscious of him

and do not die except in the state of Islam.

Madir brothers and sisters in Islam, of the most fundamental aghar that we say day and night

and of the most blessed of these aghar is the salawat that we give upon our prophet ﷺ.

In fact, Allah Himself commands us to send salat upon our prophet ﷺ and He reminds us that He

Himself has done so and He has told us that the angels have done so in that famous verse

in Allah Wa Malaikatahu Yusallun al-Nabi.

So in today's khutbah, I want to remind myself in all of you what does it mean when we send

salat and salam upon our prophet ﷺ? What are some of the blessings of this auspicious phrase

that we utter so many dozens of times of day?
