familiar with the idea of an open garden. I personally wasn't really aware of what it entailed

until I went to my first one about a year ago now. And essentially, it was not really aware of what it entailed until I went to my first one about about a year ago now. And, essentially, it is an event that takes place, often, well, where I'm from in small villages,

within communities where there are many people who take a lot of pride in their

gardens, and for one day, or perhaps, over a short weekend, they will open up their gardens to

the public, for a small fee, fee usually that goes to some local charity or cause,

all organised by the local community.

And you simply have the joy of being able to wander into someone's back garden and see what

hard work and passion they've put into them and oftentimes you'll have the gardener, the house owner

right there with you

chat through the various plants

they have

why they have chosen those plants and exactly how and how long it took them to

bring the gardens to where they are in the present moment when you see them.

And never really having grown up in places with particularly nice gardens,

I wasn't really sure what to expect. But honestly, I was so taken aback by what was possible, so inspired, really, by the

incredible work that these diligent and passionate enthusiasts put into their gardens.
