Vermont is poised to become the first US state to charge big oil for climate damage

and what Trump promised big oil if they give him a billion bucks.

Also Trump promised Wisconsin jobs but Biden actually delivered them.

And also Senator Bernie Sanders is going to drop by to talk about Gaza, the protests, big oil, and more. So we've got a lot going on today.

Just an awful lot. Vermont is poised to pass a groundbreaking major piece of legislation forcing polluting companies

to pay for the damages of the climate crisis. You'll recall or maybe not I

don't live in Vermont you might not be following this, but Vermont

experienced just a horrific year, really the last couple of years.

Last July, there were catastrophic floods in Vermont. Roads

were turned into rivers. Houses were destroyed. I mean literally floating

downstream. Two people were killed by the rushing waters, more than a billion dollars in

damages in this little state of Vermont with only 600,000 people in it.

And this was 11 years after the tropical Storm Irene had also devastated Vermont.

So the Vermont legislature, which is dominated by Democrats, even though their governor

is a Republican, a moderate Republican, let me add.

The Vermont legislature has, is on the verge of passing a major legislation that would claw back from, well actually what it would do is it

would set up a fund to reimburse people for damage from climate change and to and to pay for the remediation

uh... both at the state level and at the individual level

uh... of climate change
