Black sights and dark days for the CIA.

Hello again, I'm Armin Alney, and this is To the Point from Public Radio International,

a day to look at the issues Americans care about most. In the first years after 9-11,

the CIA allowed the torture of detainees and lied to the Bush administration in Congress

about the intelligence produced. That's according to a massive report released today by the

Senate Intelligence Committee, chaired by California Democrat Diane Feinstein.

The CIA's actions a decade ago are a stain on our value and on our history.

Some Republicans claim torture of prisoners saved American lives and warned today's report

will produce a backlash overseas.
