Well, we had a wonderful time, Saturday evening, at the roomly tractor event space in downtown Kansas City or near downtown Kansas City at the Jackson

County Republicans Lincoln Reagan Day dinner as I was the MC this year. And it was really,

really a fun and interesting evening. I'm sort of growing into these public events now where it is a room full of conservatives and everyone is

smiling and happy and optimistic and having a good time. I met a lot of the candidates,

had nice discussions with them before the program started. We had a wonderful dinner.

And a great evening that was highlighted by three Senate candidates speaking. Well, the highlight was three.

There were four in total. Mark McCloskey, the attorney from St. Louis, who protected his land with

an automatic rifle, as you recall, a couple of years ago. Billy Long, the congressman from near

Springfield, Missouri, who was running for Senate, who is a,

he's an interesting dude, man. Billy Long can fill a room with his personality in Vicki

Hartzler, who is, of the three Senate candidates that were there, she's clearly got the best

chance to win the seat. Most people believe it will come down to Vicki Hartsler or

Eric Schmidt, the attorney general in the state of Missouri, that one of those two will become

the next senator of the state of Missouri. It was a great night. We had an awful lot of fun.

There were all kinds of people running for different positions. They got five minutes at the podium

to speak after dinner, including my friend Mark Alford, who was the

longtime anchor at Fox 4 News and a couple of other candidates running for the congressional seat

in his district. He's terrific. He worked the room very well. Obviously, everybody knows him,

and he's got a leg up in that race. But there were county executive candidates there and others,

as there's sort of an

optimism in Jackson County that they could win some things that have not been one before in
