Hey guys, welcome to the show. I am Jason Romano. Today on the podcast, a special bonus

edition with Semiozile, the Boston Celtics forward. Semi has played in the NBA for the past

three seasons. He was selected in the 2017 NBA draft by Boston, 37th overall in the second round. And of course, that's why

he wears the number 37. He played his college ball at Duke for a few years and then went to

SMU where he was the 2017 American Athletic Conference Player of the Year. He was doing pretty

well here in his third season as the Celtics were in a really

good spot to make a run in the postseason as a three seed. Semmy scored a career high,

22 points on March 4th, 2020 against Cleveland in a big Celtics win. One week later, the NBA

came to a screeching halt.

And so semi's available because every NBA player is available right now.

At least they're not doing a whole lot because of the pandemic.

And we welcome Sammy back to the show to talk about this crazy pandemic life in the quarantine, but also to talk about how he's staying ready for the potential of an NBA season

and what he's learning from God during this time.

Yeah, like you said, we did not expect this to be the next time we recorded something, but it is what it is and we're here now, so let's do it. That's okay. I'm glad that we have the time, might as well, and let's talk a lot about, you know, basketball, certainly a lot about faith as well. What's been the toughest part of this whole thing for you? Just kind of pressing pause. You guys, you know, had won a big game at Indiana. And we'll talk about going back, I think, to that day in a second. But then all of a sudden, you've had to kind of press pause here the last couple months. What's this been like for you? Yeah. Like you said, really just like pause

is probably the best way to describe it. I mean, you're in a rhythm. You're sitting there,

getting ready to make a playoff push and everybody's playing well and moving in the right direction.

All of a sudden, we're like, I just stand still.
