It is the slowest sports week of the year.

That is a fact, because this is when American Century, which is

based right here in Kansas City, focuses in on celebrity golf in Lake Tahoe, Nevada. And somehow

it's a big deal and it's what people watch and talk about. We're not going to do much of that

right here. But it is an odd sports week. Baseball's in the dog days. The Royals keep losing.

They return home to take on the Guardians this weekend.

And they've got fireworks coming up this weekend as the Fourth of July

fireworks since they were out of town.

So you have that to look forward to.

We'll get into some other things going on there.

But we'll have an excellent interview in the second part of the podcast today.

You may have noticed earlier this week, the teachers union nationally, the N-E-A, right,

they're trying to strike the word mother from public schools nationwide. I guess they're going

to replace this with birthing people, or I don't even know if

parent can be used anymore. We're starting to see wackier and wackier things out of the

teachers union. And as we do that, this is not what the interview is about you'll hear today.

More and more people are deciding to homeschool their children. We see that trend nationwide.

It's nearly doubling over the last few

years. And homeschool kids do very, very well. They go on to college. They test out and grade out

very well. And one of the questions I've always had about homeschooled kids is, how are they
