before. Sarah, thanks for coming on today. Yeah, Jeff, thanks for having me. You bet. You bet. So, hey, it's a transitioning time for the Cubs. You know, we had a good, a really good, strong generation, won a world series, broke the drought, but it was tough. You had guys get traded away. Rizzo, Bryant, Baez, a lot of the core is gone. Wilson Contreras is still there. What was tougher? The trades last summer or seeing those guys sign elsewhere this off season?

A little bit of column A, a little bit of column B. I honestly, that trade deadline is one of the

most devastating things that I've been through as a fan. And I look, I get it. Baseball's a business.

I've watched lots of guys come and go. But I have never seen a team, particularly a team that

deals in loyalty and history the way that

the Cubs do, just absolutely failed to extend any single player from that 2016 core.

You know, earlier this offseason, I got into it a little bit on Twitter with some people.

And I think that the way I can best explain it is, I chair for the Cubs

because there's at least a hope that they're going to offer a Ryan Sandberg, the biggest

MLB deal in history at the time, right? Or they're going to try to bring back Greg Maddox.

They botched it, but they tried. There was the fact that they couldn't extend one of Anthony Rizzo, Chris Bryant, Javier Baez, and it looks very much like they're not going to extend Wilson Contreras is pathetic. It's not why I cheer for a major team. If I wanted to cheer for a team that's just really good at calling up guys at the right possible moment and flipping them for prospects, I would cheer for the race. Right. And, you know, we can, we have, we're some Patico because you know, I'm a Reds fan.

And it's been a disillusioning year and a half, starting with the Rizel Iglesias trade for nothing.

And, you know, we're going to, hey, we're going to use that money, that flexibility to improve shortstop by playing Kyle Farmer there.

You know, it just drives me crazy.
