Watching this one the other day recently five Michigan women got their eyes infected with

syphilis after having sexual encounters with the same man.

I did not know you could get syphilis of the eyeball.

Nah. Now scientists in the U.S. are worried that a new strain of the syphilis bacteria may have

evolved, which could be behind this unusual nature of the infection.

Now they say it's not uncommon for the

syphilis bacterium to infect the eyes however it generally shows up when left

untreated for a very long time. That explains why these sinners and experts

are the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention,

they are concerned a great deal about this mutation.

Okay. So a common heterosexual partner in an ocular syphilis cluster has not been previously documented

and suggests that an unidentified strain of T might have been associated with increased risks

for systematic manifestations or syphilis. The infected woman aged 40 to 60

experienced headaches, blurred vision, eye floaters, and photophobia which is a discomfort in bright light.
