Summary

Shaykh Yasir Qadhi now moves on to the topic of the battle of Tabuk and a detailed description is discussed in the lecture. The battle of Tabuk took place in the month of Rajab, 9 H. What was the reason behind the occurrence of this battle? The meaning of Tabuk is shared and we get the reference from the Prophet ﷺ when he refers it to a type of spring. Why did the name of the battle get named so? Listen intently to discover the details. Another name that is synonymous with this Ghazwa is that of  'Jaysh Al Usra'. What is the reasoning behind this? It is an interesting one. This particular battle was a very difficult one. There are some reasons for this: The size of the Muslim army was the largest that Arabia had ever seen. The length of the distance that had to be undertaken by the Muslim army was the largest that they had ever attempted. The Prophet ﷺ began accumulating funds for the battle and clearly, a huge amount was required. Most of the Sahabas contributed generously and the largest share was that of Uthman Ibn Affan RA.

So in shallow we will resume from where we left off last Halaka and we had finished the battle of

0:39.2

Hunain and Taif and the benefits of the Battle of Hainain and the

0:43.3

of the of Thaif and today in sha al-Ola we will move on to the

Roswati Tabuk. But before we do that just a very quick note

0:50.9

that there were around six months before between the siege of

0:55.4

a tauif and the Battle of Tabuk. What happened in these six months? Around seven or

1:00.1

eight mini expeditions which we're not going to go into the names of the small

1:04.7

expeditions the process of it did not participate but he sent the Sahaba to

1:08.2

neighboring tribes and neighboring lands and one of the main purposes was to destroy large idols to destroy public idols

1:16.1

and also to bring in the small tribes around Mecca, around Medina that were still remaining

1:21.4

to bring in.

1:22.4

So there's no need to go into all of the names

1:23.8

but for example just so that you know the more famous ones Tofely bin Ammar was

1:28.0

sent to destroy the idol of Ville caffeine and Ali bin Laden was sent to destroy the idol of a play by the name of al-A of the

1:33.4

fain and Ali N albibb was sent to destroy the idol of a play by the name of alfuls and other

1:36.0

idols were destroyed as well. Now it's a very important point especially in light of

1:40.4

modern political issues where we have these groups that are

1:43.7

destroying basically sacred sites or whatnot and they use these incidents from

1:51.4

the Sierra as evidence to destroy modern sites. Now one thing needs to be

1:56.3

reiterated and that is that the prophet's of some only did this after he had
