Summary

In life, we often look for a road map: what works, what doesn't, and how to get to our destination with the least amount of friction. In part three of the Seeking Revival series, Lisa shares a “revival roadmap” of sorts, offering four things that prevent us from experiencing God in a fresh and personal way. (Warning: As you listen to Lisa's insight and discover which “revival-killer” most resonates with you, be prepared to step out of your comfort zone!) This episode will inspire and encourage you to be an active participant in the move of God: recognizing that revival begins on a personal level long before it ever appears in the world around you.  Links Invite Lisa to Speak Take the Quiz: What Do You Want? Can you stop revival from happening? And if so, what stops it? Going to talk about what I believe

are the four things that may be stopping you from experiencing revival. In this, my part three of my

four-part series called Seeking Revival. Hi, I'm Lisa Whittle, a little fired up, a lot in love with Jesus and never filtered around here. Welcome to the Revival. Hi, I'm Lisa Whittle, a little fired up, a lot in love with Jesus and never filtered

So I believe with all my heart that God can move when and where he wants to, and there is nothing

0:39.9

that limits him when he chooses to do that. And at the same time, we know from Scripture that we do

0:45.7

have a part in our lives in partnering with the Lord. We aren't living on autopilot. We are not robots with no choice. We have free will. And even

0:59.3

deeper than that, how we respond to the Lord and how we position ourselves as far as opening up our

1:05.7

hearts or closing off our hearts to him and how he wants to work in our lives absolutely affects how much

1:12.8

his spirit can move in and through us. One of the things I really learned about this was when

1:21.1

I studied King Saul in the Old Testament when I was writing the Hard Good Bible study.

1:25.4

And even more specifically, how he and David were

1:28.0

very similar in so many things in being charismatic and attractive and gifted and both having

1:34.9

great ability to be used by God. But Saul hid physically and figuratively from the shaping of God and the

1:43.1

call of God on his life, and that unwillingness

1:47.0

to let God shift him and change him and work in him in ways in his character and in his

life that were necessary.

1:58.0

And as a result, Saul thwarted his own ability to be used by God in the same way that David was used by God.

2:04.9

Wasn't that David was sinless and Saul wasn't, that's impossible because they were both human.

2:11.5

Wasn't that they both didn't have character flaws.

2:13.9

It's just that Saul was unwilling to allow the Lord to work in him and he ran away instead,

2:19.8

and everyone, figuratively and physically.
