And it's super short, simple. So just let's memorize it right now.

But godliness with contentment is great gain. If you can, say it out loud with me. But

is great gain. And then just think about what this means, how revolutionary this is for our

lives and for our good. Great gain is found in godliness with contentment.

Contentment, just trust in, rest in God and what he has given to you.

It's so interesting that this verse is sandwiched in between, like the verses right before

it talk about people

who have an unhealthy craving for controversy and for quarrels about words which produce envy and

dissension and slander and evil suspicions and constant friction among people. Is that not a

description of social media? And a description of so much that our culture cultivates craving for controversy,

for quarrels about words that lead to envy, that lead to dissension, that lead to slander,

suspicions all the time about other people, constant friction among people.

Like, this is a description of social media and so much, at least in the culture where I live.

And Paul says, no, a godliness with contentment. That's great gain.

Just be content in God and his goodness and his grace and His mercy in your life.

And then what's interesting is right after that,
